Freshman Council Mission Statement

As the UCSU Freshman Council of the University of Colorado at Boulder 2005-2006, we are the voice for the freshman class.  Our main goal is to improve the atmosphere on campus by making residential hall life better, organizing fun events, and doing campus community service. 

Event Update:

Last semesters "Kick'n it with the Buffs" raised $625.00, which was donated to the Boulder Homeless Shelter.  Thank you to all who were involved and attended the event for making it a success.

The 2006 Recyclemania is upon us, and the UCSU Freshman Council encourages you to participate by practicing the "Three R's":

REDUCE: Read the newspaper online, Read Class Assignments online, Don't print on bright, neon, and florescent paper; it's not recyclable.

Reuse: Use your reusable mug or eco-mug instead of disposable cups. Choose reusable plates and forks when eating on campus. Use a canvas bag or back pack when shopping.

Recycle: Recycle as much as you can! Cans, glass, and plastic bottles, newspapers, magazines, catalogs, cardboard and office paper. Know where and what to recycle at school and home. Inform friends and family about recycling guidelines.

Freshmen Council enables first year students to learn about the processes and issues regarding the University of Colorado Student Union (CU's student government); to participate in projects and events with the UCSU Executive Staff, to meet campus and student leaders, and provide a voice for the freshmen class. 

Freshman Council is a part of the University of Colorado Student Union Executive Branch.  This Council was formed by the 2001-2002 Tri-Executives in an effort to involve freshmen in student government.

The Council is made up of 30 students who were interviewed and selected by the Liaison to Student Affairs and appointed by the tri-executives.
